History

June 1952 A general meeting was convened for the establishment of the All Japan Real Estate Association (Zennichi). Keita Goto appointed first chairman.
October 1952   Approval for establishment received from the Ministry of Construction (founding date of October 1).
May 1957   Owing in part to nationwide lobbying efforts led by Zennichi, the Building Lots and Buildings Transaction Business Law (Law No. 131) (¡ÈBusiness Law¡É) was amended and systems were established for business guarantee funds, real estate transaction specialists, and the Building Lots and Buildings Transaction Association.
August 1958   Uichi Noda appointed chairman.
May 1959   Three representatives from Zennichi participated in the 10th General Meeting of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), marking the debut of the Japanese real estate industry on the world stage.
June 1960   At the 11th General Meeting of FIABCI, Zennichi was approved for membership as Japan's representative.
April 1962   Japan chapter of FIABCI established.
July 1964   The Business Law was amended to allow for the establishment of the National Federation of Real Estate Transaction Associations (NFRETA) to replace the Real Estate Transaction Association. As when the Real Estate Transaction Association system was created in 1957, Zennichi promoted a policy of encouraging its members to participate in NFRETA from the start to facilitate its sound development and contributed greatly to the development of the federation.
Also, in conjunction with the establishment of NFRETA, Zennichi affirmed that it would conduct a wide range of activities related to real estate not only for real estate transaction specialists but for all individuals and corporations with an interest in real estate (according to current articles of association, individuals and corporations with a real estate license).
April 1966   15th anniversary commemorated.
The 17th General Meeting of FIABCI was held in Tokyo from April 25-29. Ahead of the meeting, five new organizations (Real Estate Companies Association of Japan, Japan Building Owners and Managers Association, Japan Residential Land Development Federation (Takuzoren), Osaka Real Estate Association, and Trust Companies Association of Japan) became members, and the meeting was a great success.
April 1967   1st Zennichi National Real Estate Congress was held as the domestic version of the FIABCI General Meeting. Related organizations were invited to attend.
July 1971   A meeting to prepare for the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Real Estate Federation was held in Manila, Philippines.
April 1972   A general meeting was held in Tokyo for the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Real Estate Federation. Eleven countries from the Asia-Pacific region participated.
June 1972   Ceremony commemorating Zennichi's 20th anniversary held. As a commemorative project, production of 20 Years of Zennichi was planned. It was completed in August 1974 and published.
September 1973   Based on amendments to the Business Law (1972 Law No. 100), approval and designation were received for the establishment of the Real Estate Guarantee Association. Zennichi, which had petitioned for its establishment, was made the parent organization.
June 1979   30th General Meeting of FIABCI held in Tokyo.
November 1980   Thoroughgoing amendments to the Business Law were enacted (promulgated May 1980), which instituted a cooling-off period and written documentation for agency contracts as well as increased the amount of business guarantee funds. Zennichi contributed and participated when the Real Estate Transaction Modernization Center Foundation was established on November 1 by eight industry organizations.
May 1982   Resolution made with the participation of all members at a special session in February to establish the Zennichi Real Estate Distribution Center. Periodical Zennichi Joho published in May.
Ceremony commemorating Zennichi's 30th anniversary held. As a commemorative project, the federation participated in the 7th Tokyo International Good Living Show and set up booth with free real estate consultation.
September 1983   As a joint project between Zennichi and the Real Estate Guarantee Association, a team was sent to the United States to survey the real estate industry there.
December 1983   Published 30 Years of Zennichi Progress as a project commemorating the association's 30th anniversary.
August 1984   Zennichi and the Real Estate Guarantee Association both contributed to establishment of the Real Estate Transaction Improvement Organization in April.
December 1984   Became a member of the Japan Association of Real Estate Sciences, which was established in November.
September 1985   As a joint project between Zennichi and the Real Estate Guarantee Association, a team was sent to the United States for the second time to research the real estate industry there.
May 1987   Ceremony held commemorating Zennichi's 35th anniversary
November 1988   Amendments made (May 1968) to the Business Law that bolstered licensing standards, revised the cooling-off period, and increased business guarantee funds.
May 1990   With the establishment of the Real Estate Information Network System designated by the Minister of Construction, sub-centers were established at Regional Chapters nationwide, as Zennichi worked to modernize the real estate market.
November 1990   With the cooperation of the Real Estate Transaction Modernization Center Foundation, a system was established for training and registering people engaged in the real estate industry (presently, the system educates and trains new participants in the industry).
Articles of association partially amended and a system of directors instituted.
January 1991   Articles of association partially amended and a system of directors instituted.
July 1991   Advanced management and training course established for the purpose of training real estate managers. As a part of the coursework, a real estate managers course (Zennichi Real Estate Academy) was established, consisting of group and correspondence classes.
November 1992   Ceremony held commemorating Zennichi's 40th anniversary.
October 1993   Twentieth Japan-Korea Real Estate Exchange Congress held. Representatives from CHINESE ASSOCIATION OF REAL ESTATE BROKERS participated as observers.
June 1994   Decision made to construct the Zennichi Kaikan.
October 1994   Thirtieth Zennichi National Real Estate Congress held. Lectures opened to general participants beginning with this congress.
January 1995   Housing relief consultation desks, earthquake damage hotlines, and other programs established in the aftermath of the Kobe earthquake, which hit on January 17. Housing and monetary contributions provided to victims.
May 1996   47th FIABCI General Meeting held in Tokyo.
July 1996   Zennichi Benefit Society program launched.
October 1996   Construction completed on Zennichi Kaikan.
January 1997   Ceremonies held to commemorate Zennichi's 45th anniversary and completion of Zennichi Kaikan.
April 1997   With the 11th round of amendments to the Business Law, designated REINS organizations were reorganized from 37 areas to four regions.
August 1997   Start of Zennichi Kioi-cho Forum.
March 2000   Zennichi Kioi-cho Forum Research Program makes recommendation regarding how the real state industry and real estate companies should be in the 21st century.
January 2001   Ceremony held commemorating Zennichi's 50th anniversary.
March 2001   50 Years of Zennichi, 30 Years of the Real Estate Guarantee Association published.
June 2001   Memorandum of understanding signed for credit card settlement services with three credit card companies and five card brands.
March 2003   Tochigi Chapter established.
Zennichi Kioi-cho Forum project ended.
April 2003   Zennichi Kioi-cho Forum recommendation made on two topics.
Integrated accounting software implemented.
August 2003   Rabbit Life Mutual Aid System started.
New Zennichi website ZeNNET launched.
October 2003   An integrated real estate website (Fudosan Japan) started.
March 2004   Yamanashi Chapter established.
August 2004   Fukui Liaison Office established.
November 2004   Alliance established with the National Association of Realtors in the U.S.
March 2006   Okinawa Chapter established.
